Most problems are fixed in a minute. Start here, and if you’re still stuck, write to us.
Never share your 24 recovery words, not even with us. We will never ask for them. Anyone who has them can read your bookmarks.
Common fixes
“Can’t reach FerryKey”
Check your internet connection. Your changes are saved in the browser and sync automatically once FerryKey can be reached again. You can also open the FerryKey toolbar button and choose Sync now.
“Your computer’s clock is more than 5 minutes off”
Every request is signed with the current time. Turn on automatic date and time in your system settings, then choose Sync now.
“Those words aren’t a valid recovery phrase”
Check each word against your recovery sheet. The words come from a fixed list of 2048 English words, and the last word contains a checksum, so one typo makes the whole phrase invalid. Word order matters.
“Too many new accounts from this network today”
To limit abuse, each network can create 5 accounts a day. Try again tomorrow. Adding a browser to an existing account is not limited.
FerryKey asks before removing bookmarks
If a lot of bookmarks disappear at once, FerryKey asks before passing the removal on to your other browsers. Choose Remove if you meant it, or Not now to keep them elsewhere for now.
“This browser was locked out”
Another of your browsers removed this one from your account. Its bookmarks stay where they are but no longer sync. If that was a mistake, choose Set up again and enter your 24 words.
I lost my 24 words
Browsers that are already set up keep working. See “What if I lose my 24 words?” for what to do next.
